Practice yoga together with other Yogi:nis from the LGBTQIA+ community at Queer Yoga Berlin

The yoga classes of Queer Yoga Berlin cordially invite all Yogini:s of the Berlin LGBTQIA+ community to practice together. We practice Power Yoga in the flowing Vinyasa Yoga style. You will also find elements of functional training, pranayama (breathing exercises), yin yoga and meditation in practice. The asanas - i.e. the yoga postures - are guided in a contemporary interpretation, so that you can practice a safe and integrative practice.

Depending on the level, the classes of Queer Yoga Berlin are suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners. Variations are offered for different postures in the procedures, so that you can decide how challenging you want your practice to be based on your daily form. The classes are in German language. It is always possible to get some cues in English :)

The rooms of Queer Yoga Berlin are LGBTQIA+ Safe Spaces, please read "What are Hands-ons and assists?" in the FAQ section.

Do you have any questions? Take a look at the FAQ or send me an email . See you on the mat!

FAQ

Level 0-1: The level is suitable for participants who have never practiced yoga before or who have only had their first yoga experience. During the yoga practice, the orientation of the postures is discussed. The "flow" is still quite static here, so that you can first get to grips with the basics of the Vinyasa Flow style. However, the level 0-1 classes can be exhausting and make you sweat :) We continue to practice simple pranayama breathing techniques and at the end there is a savasana - the final relaxation.

Levels 1-2: Do you practice yoga regularly? Then you are right here! We practice in the flowing Vinyasa Yoga style and incorporate Power Yoga and functional training elements. These classes are quite demanding and usually have a thematic focus. Variations of different levels of difficulty are offered for asanas. It is up to the practitioner to explore their own limitations and learn to respect them. We integrate pranayama and meditation elements to match the class theme.

Open level: In this class you will find beginners with previous knowledge as well as advanced yogis. The yoga sequence is structured in such a way that everyone can benefit from it and the complexity of the execution of the asanas can vary as desired. Here it is important that you practice independently and do not try to imitate what someone else is practicing next to you. However, this class is not suitable for absolute beginners without previous knowledge.
If possible, please bring your own yoga mat! We only stored a limited number of mats in the rooms. If you come to yoga more often, you can also buy a yoga mat on site at a fair price. Bring comfortable sportswear with you. You can change on site. We practice yoga barefoot because it gives you better grip on the mat. If you still want to practice in socks, you are of course welcome to do so. Otherwise, it's always good to have something to drink and a towel with you.
Assists and hands-on are elementary components of a yoga class. The teacher touches the practitioner with their hands and aligns the practitioner's body in the yoga poses. The aim is to make the posture more tangible and to convey a sense of security. If you want to practise without touching and hands-on, simply use the consent cards that are handed out at the beginning of the class and place your card next to your mat where it is clearly visible. Depending on which side of the card you turn up, you will receive hands-on or not. You can turn the card over at any time during the class if you change your mind :)
Yes! Due to the high demand and the limited space in the room, participation is only possible with prior registration. There is also the booking tool fitogram, which you can use not only to register, but also to pay conveniently by Paypal or credit card.
fitogram is the booking platform you can use to register for the classes of Queer Yoga Berlin. You have to set up a user account once and can then deposit credits in addition to registering for the classes.
Yes! If something comes up, you can cancel your registration in fitogram up to 4 hours before the class starts. You will then automatically receive the credit for the next registration on your fitogram account. If you cancel later than 4 hours before the class, your credit will not be refunded.
If the available places are fully booked, you can be placed on a waiting list when you register. If someone cancels their participation, you will automatically be moved up and informed by e-mail. The last opportunity to move up is 2 hours before the start of the class. If you are still on the waiting list, your registration will be automatically canceled and the credit for the next registration will be credited to your fitogram account. A payout of the money is only possible in exceptional cases via Paypal for a fee of 50 cents.
We are in rented rooms with the classes of Queer Yoga Berlin and other groups come before and after. That's why the classes start on time and the door bell is switched off. Be there early so that you have enough time to change. The rooms always open 15 minutes before the class starts.

7. Newsletter

newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we need an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected or only collected on a voluntary basis. We use newsletter service providers, which are described below, to process the newsletter.

Mailchimp

This website uses the services of Mailchimp to send newsletters. The provider is Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

Mailchimp is a service that can be used, among other things, to organize and analyze the sending of newsletters. If you enter data for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter (e.g. e-mail address), this will be stored on Mailchimp's servers in the USA.

With the help of Mailchimp we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an email sent with Mailchimp, a file contained in the email (so-called web beacon) connects to Mailchimp's servers in the USA. In this way it can be determined whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked on. Technical information is also recorded (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. They are used exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyzes can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

If you do not want an analysis by Mailchimp, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message.

The data processing takes place on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you have stored with us for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you have canceled the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes remain unaffected.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here:  https://mailchimp.com/eu-us-data-transfer-statement/  and  https://mailchimp.com/legal/data-processing-addendum/#Annex_C_-_Standard_Contractual_Clauses

After you have been removed from the newsletter distribution list, your e-mail address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is only used for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interests.
